It is no secret that some TEDx speeches have inspired our work in GloVo.

One of the ideas that really stood out was the one of the Golden Circle, which inspired us to start last year’s GlovoCon. This speech was about how much we should first focus on why we do what we do and not entirely on what we do. So, every time we start a new action, questioning why should be our beginning and our basis.

GloVo’s why is particularly oriented to creating huge social impact by motivating young people, based on which, every action will flourish.

The answer to» what?» is the numerous events, all those exclusive moments we spent with each other and the connections we made while always taking into account the superb quality, both of the events and the volunteers’ experience.(this is how)

The best part though, when you are an organization serving 2.5 years now, is that you are explosively energetic and full of dreams. And all this, without ever forgetting that everything started from one volunteer, like all the things that are about to start…. Not just from one volunteer, but from many more collaborating together!

A few days ago, we announced one of the two big shifts which GloVo decided to follow from now on. The first is about 1+1 and how everything we do will be first and foremost social. More events are on the way, with much more social impact. The second one has more to do with the team of GloVo itself. From the beginning of our existence and service as an organization, we had the privilege to connect with a lot of young volunteers, full of enthusiasm and many powerful skills. Volunteers that took part in our events fully passionate about them…

It was certain that a moment would come when they would want something more out of this, something that unfortunately didn’t exist. The first step was formulating the GloVo Captains. The concept was clear: the more experienced volunteers would guide the newcomers, based on their previous experience. After a year full of actions and soaring increase of our members, the time has finally come to take a step further. Projects like Sparks and GloVo.Con should be managed by the volunteers themselves, raising the standards to a new level with their fresh ideas while simultaneously gaining more skills and experience.
