They say that «Home is any four walls that enclose the right person» and also that «Your homeland is not the country you were born in, but the place you feel like home». People often end up living in other places than their hometown and eventually loving them more and missing them more when they leave. It’s an awkward feeling that can’t be easily explained. Sometimes it’s the weather, sometimes the way of living, but in most cases what plays the biggest role is people.
A feeling like this was what we experienced when we first visited the Found.ation. We weren’t sure what this place was all about, until we got there. Many said it was just another co-working space, others said it was an awesome new incubator. The word that came to our minds when we opened the door? «Home».
Until then, we used to work from our houses. Without working hours, strong commitment and discipline. As for the meetings? At Yiannis’ place, along with beers and souvlakia (Don’t tell anyone, but we still have beers and souvlakia in our meetings). The good thing in that is that you feel independent and free. The bad thing is that you lose your motivation and stop working really hard. But as we mentioned above, the word «people» sometimes plays a big role in your decisions and this was what happened to us, too. We arranged a meeting with Yiannis (aka Sclavos) and Dimitris (aka Kalavros), talked for an hour and… taram taram! The Found.ation had just turned into GloVo’s new Headquarters.
Since then a lot of amazing things have happened there. Crazy meetings and volunteer trainings, the most productive working hours of our lives and most important: GloVo’s «Meetings rule» has finally found its best application. (For those who don’t know, we have a very big punishment, if someone is late for our meeting in GloVo. He buys beers for everyone!). Yeah, you can tell…
And not to mention the other additional services, that this place offers and of course the amazing secretaries Voula and Sofia (We have literally NEVER missed a call). If you own a startup or consider launching one, the Found.ation is the place to be. Period.
So, to Yiannis, Dimitris, Voula, Sofia and the rest of the guys that work at the Found.ation and are so patient with our loud voices and enthusiasm every day:
